This drawing illustrated what the bridge could look like if it were finished with a rustic stone veneer. An existing ski bridge connecting one side of the ski mountain to the other (skiers and snow boarders cross over the road to the ski lift) was originally engineered and constructed without an appealing design. The series of three images below represent a two-day drawing effort. Working with existing structures made it possible to develop a “before and after” visual presentation that enabled viewers to compare an existing photograph along with the proposed design improvement. For this project at Colorado’s Beaver Creek Ski Resort, I was asked to visualize a series of upgrades to existing bridge structures and a central transit facility. Ski resorts are always expanding and improving their facilities and needing visuals to communicate proposed design improvements to investors.
